Membership

We have approximately 35 individuals who are trained as either drivers, First Responders, or EMTs. Everyone who rides in the ambulance is CPR certified, which includes AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training.

Apparatus

We have two ambulances. Both ambulances are inspected by an independent agency to ensure we are up-to-date with the latest equipment and safety.

CPR

All responders are required to maintain a valid Healthcare Provider level CPR certification. Depending on the agency (American Heart Association or Red Cross) re-certification is required every one or two years. Automated External Defibrillator training is included.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

There have been several changes made to the EMT curriculum in the past year. Members who achieve this level of certification have completed over 225 hours of classroom and hands-on practical education. In addition, EMTs are required to complete 24 hours of “core” education and an additional 24 hours of “non core” (electives) every 3 years.

First Responders

An alternative to becoming an EMT. Members who achieve this level of certification attend classroom and practical education. First Responders work closely with EMTs at all calls.

Other required training

Additional training is required by the State of New Jersey for both firefighters and EMTs, such as: Incident Command, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Confined Space Awareness, Right-to-Know, and more.
